22 March 2017, Wednesday, day 8

We have been at our post for about 10 days now.  The weather has been very nice up until today.
All of a sudden it is in the 40s and may get snow tomorrow.  The forecast keeps changing so maybe we will just get rain. But bad weather for us today.  Rainy, cool and then a little hail.  Feeling sorry for the storks, but that is nature.  The weather didn't keep us indoors though.

We went to 3 new cafes/bars to try some different tapas.  One of the only positives about this place compared to last year is the large numbers of places to eat.  I think I had a bite of the best Spanish tortilla ever today.

This is a really nice little city with lots of good food and wine and plenty of churches.  We have had a variety of pilgrims.  Mostly Spanish but lots of people from Poland, Austria, Germany and France.

We have 5 pilgrims so far today; a couple in their 50s from Canada who speak French. The man speaks a little English and no Spanish.  3 young women from Switzerland arrived about 30 minutes ago.  Delightful girls who speak French and English and probably some German and Italian.  The Swiss are amazing in their language education.  The Canadians asked for a private room - unbelievable.  I wanted to shout, "this is a pilgrim, donation Albergue not a dang hotel! ". But we will try to accommodate.  If no one else comes they will have a room to themselves.

Culle has made a friend who owns a wine shop. He takes every opportunity to go in and talk. The other day he offered to take us to a small winery that has a floor like dad put in our cellar. Unfortunately we couldn't because of the darn pilgrims. (Smile)
